It’s not easy to sleep well in the hot temperature at the nighttime and always headache during the daytime. But why? Is it just because of the weather? If you already have the answer, please skip to the paragraph of meridian acupressure at the end of this article. Now, here is the story…

When I woke up in the morning, I immediately noticed the pain came from my left shoulder. It’s because I was just sleeping right on my left shoulder without a pillow. I couldn’t move my left shoulder freely because of the pain. Therefore, I got up and did a shrug exercise for a while. I rushed to the kitchen to make breakfast when I feel my shoulder is back. Unexpectedly, my head begin headache for the rest of the day and continue to the next day. It lowered my appetite and energy. My children coaxed me for a walk with them after dinner. I felt much better after walks.

There I found another incidental symptom is that when I lay on my bed at night, I felt some tingling, numbness coming out slightly which came from the neck and the back. Fortunately, I accumulated a lot of comfortable atmospheres since I walked in the evening and was sleepy after a busy day. Therefore, I calmed myself and said hello to the tingling pain. Then, I fell asleep not for long.

The headache lasted until the third day. I wake up to pee around three o’clock in early morning. I tossed and turned over but felt full of depression when I lay back on the bed. “Why?”… I counted and answered myself, “there are about four or five days without poo.” According to my experience, it’s more uncomfortable if I kept lying down this way. Therefore, I get out of bed, drink warm water, and take a bath. Then I saw that the light throughout from the room of my son. I knock his door, chatted with him for a while, and then went to make the breakfast. I wanted to make myself ready to accompany my daughter to the hospital for her surgery at seven o’clock. As for my daughter, she didn’t let me go to the hospital with me because of the COVID. So, I was preparing food while staring at her door. At the same time, I felt my eyes had begun to dry. I guessed it might be one of the symptoms of constipation. So, I grabbed a water bottle, eye drops, massagers for eyes and shoulder back in my carrying bag in hurry then jumped into the car with her to the hospital. My daughter was right I couldn’t go into the hospital freely with her. It turned I returned home after she got into the door of the hospital.

It’s strange to say that my headache was tolerable when I was cooking at home, but it became terrible when I sat into the car immediately. Fortunately, I had gotten the hook massager on my hand. I used it to press the acupoints along the GB meridians on my head, neck, shoulder and back. The massage process was painful, but it stopped my headache while I was pressing. I felt better but got some dizziness when I arrived home, so I took a short nap. I felt much better when I woke up. Then I used the massager hold on my acupoint, TE15 TianLiao , the left side to relax my neck and also with the stretching slowly. As I stretched my neck diagonally to the upper right side, I also stretched my left shoulder in the opposite direction. Suddenly, I heard a “Ka” sound from the back of my neck near the acupoint of GV14 Dazhui without feeling a pain. It’s time for preparing lunch then I walked into the kitchen to cook and roast chicken legs. Hey, the whole process became much easier, and my head no longer got trouble for the rest of the day… I can’t believe that this way allowed me to say goodbye to the headache. Even now, ten days after, there was no more headache.

Summary: Symptoms and causes: shoulder and neck pain (commonly known as neck stiffness, stiff neck) due to poor posture which causing dizziness or headache.
Acupressure: Press the pain points, such as GB20 Fengchi , BL10 Tianzhu , TE15 TianLiao , and then press along the nearby the pain points according to the direction of the meridians.
Acupressure time: 10-15 minutes (if you can bear the pain, the time can be extended)
Acupressure range: head, neck, shoulders and back.
Acupressure tool: hook type massager.
Acupressure target: After pressing the acupoints to relax the meridians, there is still a key step to complete, which is to do a few stretching movements on the shoulders and neck, and gently stretch the cervical vertebrae left and right. As you stretch, stretch your head and shoulders in opposite directions. If you can relax the stuck area in time, then the headache can be eliminated.

Precaution:
1. If the symptoms are severe, you should seek the help of a professional chiropractic and rehabilitation doctor.
2. Stretch your neck and shoulder gently. Do not force too much. It’s the right for you only when your strech make yourself felt comfertible.
3. Hot compress and stretching can also be used to relax muscles and meridians.
